11th, 2007: THE DETAILED MASTER PLAN OF DINH VU INDUSTRIAL ZONE UNVEILED |

| The Detailed Master Plan of Dinh Vu Industrial Zone was unveiled on 11 Jan 2007 by the vice Chairman of Hai Phong People’s committee with the witness of all competent authorities such as head of Department of Planning & Investment, Department of Constructions and esteemed guests. By this publication, the DVIZ is made ready for the new turn into a world class industrial and logistic hub in the North of Vietnam. The Master plan will also boost development of 944.5 ha industrial park, a 130 ha deep sea port and a 65 ha residential, public service and commercial area in Dinh Vu peninsula of Hai Phong city. Mr. Filip Martens, Chairman cum General Director of DVDJVC said that the Master plan would enable his company to get ready for the second development phase of DVIZ, with a budget of USD 70 million. “When we first initiated the concept of the DVIZ ten years ago, very few people believed in our dreams. But the first phase development of 164 ha is now about to be fully occupied”, said Mr. Martens, adding that the second phase of 318 ha would be developed in 3 years. |

Up to the end of 2006, 14 investors representing $300 million in value have built manufacturing plants in the DVIZ, including US’s Caltex, PetroVietnam, Vietnam Chemical Corporation and France’s Proconco. In 2006, DVIZ attracted 6 new tenants with a total investment capital of $ 38 million. “The work we have been doing here proves our long term commitment to be a part of Vietnam’s economic development during DVD JVC’s validity of 50 years. We hope that our successful operations can set an example for other investors from Europe and the US to come and invest in Vietnam”. One of DVD JVC’s honored guests, Mr. Pierre Kerckaert, General Director of the Port Authority Zee Brugge port, Belgium, one of the world ‘s largest and most modern port, also revealed their interest in joining the development of Lach Huyen Port, which would be able to accommodate 50,000 DWT vessels and handle an estimated cargo volume of 6 million tones in 2015 and 35 million tones in 2020. Emphasized by Mr. Martens, Lach Huyen would supplement the local port network, including Hai Phong port, and Dinh Vu Port in the context of fast growing transport demand in the northern part of Vietnam. |
