Haiphong, 4th April 2012, Today, the 15th anniversary ceremony of Dinh Vu Industrial Zone and the inauguration of liquids jetty are organized at the site with the participation of nearly 250 people of high-ranking representatives of Central Government, Haiphong People’s Committee, Haiphong departments, foreign investment promotion organizations, its partners, its tenants, the media and company staff.
On the occasion of its anniversary, Dinh Vu Industrial Zone is honored to receive the prestigious 2nd Labour Medal by the President of the State of Vietnam for its business performance and socio-economic contribution to the development of Vietnam, following its first awarded the 3rd Labor Medal in 2007.
The working team of Dinh Vu Industrial Zone project put their first step in Dinh Vu peninsula 15 years ago when the Zone was of swamps and fish farm. With their expertise and confidence, they took initiative to turn the desolate peninsular into a hub of industrial development. The collaboration of Belgian investor and local authority was granted Investment Certificate to execute the industrial zone project with its first phase in 1997. Experienced specialists of IPEM, Rent A Port, DVIZ’s main foreign shareholder, in cooperation with Haiphong authorities realized this vision. Dinh Vu Industrial Zone is such a unique zone in the North of Vietnam with its concept of land development where millions of cubic meters of sand were pumped for land reclamation for hectares of sea front land.
The confidence, effort and perseverance of the initiators and successors are paid off and visualized over the decade. The phase 1 of the industrial zone of 164ha is almost occupied. Kicked off in 2008, Phase 2 of the industrial zone of 377ha is now 50% occupied. The industrial zone is proud of its reliable utilities including power, water, waste water treatment and telecommunication system to serve its clients in different industries ranging from heavy industry, petrochemical industry to general light industry. The industrial zone is now destination of 44 projects with the total investment of 1.74 billion USD.
The zone is focus of all big names like Nakashima, Bridgestone, Shell, Chevron, Petrolimex, PVOIL, PVTEX, Shin-etsu, Proconco, Toyota Tsusho, etc representing various industries. Dinh Vu Industrial Zone is chosen because of its strategic location, its access to the port located directly in the zone, the availability of reliable utilities, and the best tax incentives applied for economic zone.
On the same occasion, the inauguration of jetty 2 of 20,000 DWT is organized. Dinh Vu industrial zone is a unique zone in the North of Vietnam where petrochemical clients can share-use liquids jetty and pipe rack systems with cost effectiveness. Tenants in the petrochemical area do not have to build their own jetty which cost millions of USD as they can utilize the ready jetties in the zone. The first jetty of 10,000 DWT of the zone was put into operation in 2005.
It is known that the new waste water treatment plant was inaugurated in March. These are part of the utilities development and upgrading plan of the zone to better serve existing tenants and the new wave of investors into Dinh Vu Industrial Zone.
Dinh Vu Industrial Zone is proud of 15 years of development. The well-equipped port and jetty facilities, reliable utilities and land development are exactly in line with the envisaged development concept of the zone in the earlier day.
On the same occasion, with the desire to share the company’s success to social activity, the Company donates 500 millions dong to the Charity Fund and the Gratitude Fund of the city.
