This land has been regain over the sea, therefore in order to protect the newly reclaimed lans and the investors that has been setting up on the zone, DVIZ has build efficient dikes.

The left photograph shows the northeast end corner of the Liquid Berth's reclaimed area. The channel is the Nam Trieu Channel leading into Haiphong Port area. The photograph on the right is the shore protection looking to the west direction.

This strongly built dike system has proven its effectiveness during the 27 September 2005 DAMREY storm. Although this strongest storm since several decades hit the DVIZ, no damages were recorded on the DVIZ sea defence system, nor on any of the DVIZ clients properties.
